I shy away from patterns, though ironically color already shows up abundantly in my work. It wasn't until I met a girl in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, wearing neon green stockings, a polka-dot top, and a careless attitude, that I felt permission to venture further into patterns and color. This piece showcases that process, in the midst of my own shyness in doing so.
