Alex Anyaegbunam

Alexander "Alex" Anyaegbunam (b. 1992, Dublin) is a multidisciplinary Irish Nigerian artist whose work spans painting, collage, photography and installation. Drawing on a bi-continental heritage, he layers cinematic framing with poetic narratives of belonging, memory and self-invention, building what he calls a new "visual dialect" out of Irish, Nigerian and diasporic motifs. His surfaces are richly worked acrylic washes, spray-paint and pastel over archival photographs, handwritten texts, torn fabrics and found objects and invite a tactile reading, while abrupt linework and collage ruptures unsettle it. He is also known internationally as the musician Rejjie Snow, whose jazz-inflected, introspective records have helped place Irish hip-hop on the global map. Selected exhibitions If It's Ea
