Gemma Holzer (b. 1996) is a Dutch/American artist based in London. She graduated from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Painting in 2025 and holds a BA in Fine Art from City & Guilds of London Art School (2019). Holzer operates in the expanded field of painting, working between oil, acrylic, airbrush, ceramics, and steel. Her layered surfaces and diverse materials consider the boundaries between the organic and the constructed, myth and technology, past and present. Gemma Holzer’s work combines personal nostalgia with reimagined histories. The pieces evoke ancient cultures, featuring idols of strange creatures inhabiting ambiguous, nondescript spaces.
